“As the first Waldorf Astoria property to debut in Australia, Waldorf Astoria Sydney demonstrates Hilton’s commitment to expanding its luxury portfolio to the world’s most desirable destinations,” said Nils-Arne Schroeder, vice-president President of Hilton, Luxury and Lifestyle, Asia-Pacific.

“Our highly personalized, elegant service and iconic environments are at the heart of every hotel, and we look forward to delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests in Sydney.”

The 220-key hotel, consisting of 179 rooms and 41 suites, is the brand’s first in Australasia, joining six other Waldorf Astoria properties in the Asia-Pacific region. Globally, the portfolio has more than 30 hotels in operation and another 20 in the pipeline.

The brand’s global reputation for personalized service and world-class culinary excellence should make it a popular attraction in Sydney’s CBD.

Tokyo-based Kengo Kuma and Associates and Sydney-based Crone Architects will oversee the hotel’s architecture, “artfully blending contemporary living with cutting-edge design”.

The luxury hotel will feature two original dining concepts, a rooftop bar with harbor views and a spa on the first level.

Peacock Alley, an iconic space at Waldorf Astoria properties, will serve as a “central gathering place” and feature the iconic Waldorf Astoria clock.

“Waldorf Astoria’s introduction to Sydney underscores our growth strategy of organically bringing our world-class brands to discerning travelers in key global markets.”
