Tampa hotel company Mainsail Lodging & Development has hired Jason Perkins as General Manager of the Karol Hotel in Clearwater. He replaces Adam Duffey, who has moved to the historic Fenway Hotel in Dunedin, where he will serve as General Manager.

According to a press release, Perkins’ 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry includes stays at the Lexington Marriott City Center & Residence Inn in Kentucky, where he served as operations manager, and the Charlotte Marriott City Center in Carolina. du Nord, where he was Director of Services. He also worked at the Adagio Hotel in San Francisco and the W Atlanta Downtown after beginning his career at the Embassy Suites Philadelphia Airport.

“Jason has dedicated his entire career to the national hospitality industry,” Mainsail Lodging & Development Founder and President Joe Collier said in the press release. “We look forward to him sharing his knowledge and expertise of hotels across the country with guests and staff at The Karol, as well as our team at Mainsail.”

Duffey, the statement said, helped open the Karol Hotel in 2020 and helped the property achieve TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice and AAA Four Diamond status.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jason to the mainsail team and to have Adam lead the Fenway Hotel,” Collier said in the statement. “Both bring extensive industry experience, a passion for hospitality and intuitive leadership to these two boutique Tampa properties.”
