Ovolo Hotels commits to a 100% vaccination rate for its staff
Designer hotel operator Ovolo Group has announced a commitment to 100% vaccinate its staff against COVID-19 for the health and safety of its customers and team members, along with incentives in place to internal clients who have had both injections.
The new ‘Vax. The Pact ‘initiative will ensure that all of its employees will have received their first vaccination by October 31, 2021 and will be fully vaccinated by the end of this year. Currently, the company’s Australian management team have had their first or both shots, with 85% of employees in Hong Kong and 76% of their workforce in Bali with at least their first shot in the arm.
Ovolo helps facilitate access to vaccines for its staff by allowing free time around work hours to obtain the vaccine and by covering personal expenses associated with immunization.
In addition, guests staying, eating or drinking at Ovolo hotels will soon be able to enjoy rewards for showing their MyGov vaccination certificates, such as catering offers, access to exclusive contests and other perks. Ovolo yet to be clarified.
During last year’s pandemic, the company was the first Australian hotel group to impose full face masks on its hotel teams in contact with customers. The mask commitment was an extension of its âOC / DC – Obsessive Commitment to Deep Cleaningâ policy, designed to highlight its cleaning, hygiene and disinfection protocols.
Ovolo Group Founder and CEO Girish Jhunjhnuwala said his employees are the heart and soul of the unique Ovolo experience.
âThe immediate future of tourism and hospitality depends on high vaccination rates, and as a company we have a responsibility to our industry to lead this,â he said.
âVax. Pact. Is the first step but, in our power, we will do whatever it takes!
