TFE Hotels appoints Global Chief Financial Officer

TFE Hotels has appointed Irish-born financier Brian Delaney to its management team, taking on the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Delaney comes from Minor Hotel Group Ltd where he most recently served as Chief Financial Officer, as part of a nine-year stint with Minor International PCL (MINT) – one of the largest hotel companies in Asia-Pacific.

Throughout his career, Delaney has worked as Chief Financial Officer at Oaks Hotels, Director of Fund Accounting at AMP Capital Holdings in Sydney and spent several years in the financial services industry at Helaba, JP Morgan and Citibank in Ireland.

“Brian is a commercial, strategic and technically skilled leader with an impressive track record in the financial transformation of multinationals, both within and outside the tourism industry,” said Antony Ritch, Managing Director of TFE Hotels.

“We are very pleased to welcome him to the TFE family and are confident that his international industry experience will provide strong financial leadership as we continue to build our story as an Australian international hospitality company.”

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, TFE has opened 19 hotels over the past three years and is focused on building strong global management teams to support its growth.

Delaney will oversee the group’s global financial matters and work with the management team to execute an ambitious growth strategy encompassing seven brands, including A by Adina, Adina Hotels, Vibe Hotels, Quincy Hotels, Travelodge Hotels, Rendezvous and Collection by TFE Hotels.

It will move to the Sydney office of TFE Hotels later this month.

Sheraton Melbourne welcomes new General Manager

Experienced hotelier Achim Herterich has been appointed General Manager of Sheraton Melbourne, succeeding Peter Minatsis who was recently appointed General Manager of Le Méridien Melbourne.

Herterich first joined Marriott in 2015 as Executive Chef, then Food and Beverage Manager, at Sheraton Melbourne. He was part of the opening team of the luxurious Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay in 2017 before returning to Australia in 2020 to lead the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast as hotel manager.

Marriott International Area, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Vice President Sean Hunt welcomed Herterich to Melbourne to lead the Sheraton team.

“Achim brings over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including the last seven with Marriott,” Hunt said.

“He worked internationally in Europe and the United States before moving to Australia and brings extensive experience in the upscale Sheraton brand.”

Rosewood HK appoints Sales and Marketing Director

Rosewood Hong Kong has appointed Angus Pitkethley as Director of Sales and Marketing.

Pitkethley brings over 27 years of global hotel sales and marketing experience, most recently as Director of Sales and Marketing at Park Hyatt New York. Throughout his career, he has held various sales and marketing positions, including at Marriott International, where he served as Regional Sales and Marketing Manager in Brussels; and New York-based Rosewood Little Dix Bay as director of sales and marketing.

Pitkethley will be responsible for implementing sales and marketing strategies for the hotel and residential operations.

Fairmont Orchid Appoints New Director of Sales and Marketing

Fairmont Orchid, a luxury resort on Hawaii Island’s Kohala Coast, welcomes Chris Sessions as its new director of sales and marketing.

Sessions brings over 15 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry, most recently as Director of Sales for the luxury resort Nemacolin in Pennsylvania, and previously as Director of Sales, Marketing and Events for Hyatt. Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina in San Diego. He was also Associate Director of Sales at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa in California.

“I look forward to welcoming visitors to our gathering place, investing in our community and working with our team to develop partnerships that create a more sustainable future,” Sessions said.

Sessions will drive sales strategies, revenue management, conference services and brand partnerships for the 540-room destination.
