Key promotions at Nesuto

Hotel and apartment brand Nesuto has promoted John Bristowe to operations director for Australia and New Zealand.

He will oversee the operations of all Nesuto properties in Australia and New Zealand, supporting day-to-day property managers and implementing customer service and operating standards across the group.

Bristowe joined Nesuto in September 2018 and played a significant role in restructuring the group’s New Zealand operations.

Nesuto has also appointed Nikita Beresnev as Australia and New Zealand Commercial Director.

Nikita joined the company in September 2018 as Chief Revenue Officer for Australia and New Zealand, and is the primary point of contact for revenue management, sales, marketing including social media, and the cast for Nesuto.

Meanwhile, Lee Johnson has been promoted to Human Resources and Training Manager for Australia and New Zealand. He will be responsible for all HR matters in Australia and New Zealand, training and development opportunities, and supporting mentoring team members.

Lee joined Nesuto in early 2019 as Learning and Development Manager and Backup Hotel Manager, and has held leadership roles in Australia and New Zealand. He created the Nesuto brand’s signature service ethic and in-house training program, Make the Call, to enhance the customer experience.

Daiwa Living Nesuto CEO Mark Ronfeldt praised the team for their work throughout the pandemic.

Appointed Managing Director at Parkroyal Beach Road

The newly refurbished Parkroyal Beach Road, Singapore welcomes a new General Manager, Kung Teong Wah.

With over 30 years of experience in the hotel scene in Asia and Singapore, Teong Wah began his career as a chef, and his most recent role was as cluster general manager at Millennium Hotels and Resorts. He has also worked with IHG in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia for 23 years, including as General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Batam.

Edgewater Lake Wānaka general manager resigns

Across the Tasman, Edgewater – Lake Wānaka is preparing to bid farewell to Chief Executive Catherine Bone, who is stepping down after three and a half years with the company.

She is returning to the UK later this year to be closer to her family.

After guiding the hotel through the busy 2019, Bone led the team through the challenges of the pandemic and the ongoing recovery.

Working with the Edgewater Board, Bone has advanced planning for a major refurbishment programme, which is expected to begin in April/May 2023.

Board Chairman Andy Macfarlane praised Bone for his dedication to the company.

“Catherine’s hard work is enabling the hotel to reposition itself ideally for the benefit of our New Zealand owner family and our future guests,” he said.

“Catherine also leaves a legacy of creating an excellent team of staff, which she led through the pandemic.”

She will complete her role at the end of October 2022 and will work with the Board to ensure a smooth transition to a new CEO.
