Down-route launches hotel booking and expense management app for crew

London-based charter and management specialist Private Jet Central has launched a new smartphone app to help with hotel bookings and managing crew expenses.

Dubbed Down-route, the application allows business aviation operators to track crew expenses in real time as they travel around the world.

Operations staff and crew will be able to access discounted rates directly through the app, thanks to Down-route’s bulk buying power.

The company says managers will be able to set an upper price limit for hotel rooms, allowing them to keep tighter control over spending.

Although the app and website are currently in the final stages of development, the Down-route team have already started discussions with potential users, including Air Alsie.

Tom Carstensen from the Danish operator said: “We have worked closely with Private Jet Central on other projects and were really interested to hear about the Down-Route app. The idea of ​​getting good rates for our hotel bookings and then connecting directly to an expense management feature is something new and Air Alsie is looking forward to the launch of the app and to be among the first to see the benefits for our company”.

Down-route says they will constantly update the app and add new features after the initial launch “After launch, it will be continuously developed with new features based on user feedback. For operators, a log of edge is in the works and future generations may include table reservation, theater reservation, closed loop chat and social media features.
